As much as I enjoyed being a school social worker, I made the difficult decision to leave the field. I had to take a step back, take good care of myself, and forge a new path. During this time, I discovered I love expressing myself through creating art, and I learned front-end development in my free time, unlocking a new, more technical interest I hadn't explored before.
I've been really lucky to make many genuine connections throughout my life, and I know how fulfilling it can be to work with others to enhance the human experience. My passion for people and problem solving led me to social work, and I earned my Master's in school social work during the height of the pandemic.

I've fallen in love with User Experience Design because it combines my passions for art, tech, and people. My approach to design is bold, engaging, and playful. I aim to welcome, intrigue, and move people through my work.
Over the last three years, I've lived in three different states, and took on new roles that allowed me to work with people in new ways, including a bartender, a shift lead at a coffee shop, a customer support escalation specialist, and a technical recruiter. I have also invested more deeply in my art by designing and launching my own Shopify store in early 2024!
My social work background has provided me with a unique ability to identify the right problems, ask the right questions, and focus on the steps needed to reach the right solution(s). More importantly, I do well in these positions because I genuinely care about people and their well-being. If I'm able to help make someone's day better, I will. If I'm working in a role where I can provide a solution to a customer having a problem, I will, and if I can't, I will do my best to point them to someone who can.

I was born and raised in the Chicago suburbs, but life has since taken me to Wisconsin and the Bay Area, where I currently reside. I'm an artist, an optimist, and a life-long learner.
When I'm not designing, you might find me drawing, collaging, writing, reading, trying a new restaurant in the Bay Area with my partner, or snuggling with my two cats, Socks and Simon!
